Terms of Service
Last updated: October 31, 2026 (version 2026-10-31)
1. Who we are
pdfzubrief.de is operated by Oscar Rojas, Alt-Mariendorf 50, 12107 Berlin, Germany (see the Imprint). These terms govern the relationship between pdfzubrief.de and people who send letters with it ("you"). pdfzubrief.de is not a postal service: our print partner LetterXpress prints and posts your letter, and Deutsche Post AG delivers it.
2. What pdfzubrief.de does
You upload a PDF and enter the recipient's address. We place the address in the envelope window as shown in the preview (printed on page 1, on an extra cover page, or as already in your PDF) and pass the letter to our print partner LetterXpress (A&O Fischer GmbH & Co. KG, Winsen (Luhe)). LetterXpress prints it on A4 paper in black and white or colour, single- or double-sided as you chose, puts it in a window envelope, pays the postage and hands it to Deutsche Post for delivery as a standard letter, or as international mail if the recipient is abroad.
Delivery is by Deutsche Post under its terms. We don't guarantee delivery times, and a standard letter gives no proof of delivery. If you need proof for a deadline (for example to cancel a contract), use registered mail, which pdfzubrief.de doesn't offer yet.
2a. Emails we send you
We email you a code to confirm your address, and about your letter: when it has been handed over (this email is also your order confirmation) and if something goes wrong. We send no newsletters or advertising.
3. Prices and payment
The price is shown before you order: print and postage plus our service fee of €1.00 per letter. No VAT is charged (small-business rule, § 19 UStG). You pay on Stripe's payment page with one of the methods offered there. The contract is concluded when your payment is completed, or, for a letter from a pack you already have, when you send it.
3a. Letter packs
A letter pack contains 10 letters for €15.90. Each pack letter covers one letter within Germany, printed in black and white, with up to 3 sheets (up to 3 pages single-sided or 6 pages double-sided). Letters in colour, with more sheets, or to another country aren't covered; you pay for them individually. When you buy a pack, the letter you are sending uses its first letter.
Pack letters belong to the email address you bought them with. They can't be transferred or paid out, and they are valid for 3 years from purchase. If our print partner rejects a letter sent from a pack, the letter goes back into your pack.
4. Your letter, your responsibility
Send only letters you are entitled to send. You are responsible for their content. Don't send unlawful content, for example threats, insults, fraud, or material that infringes other people's rights, and don't send advertising to people who haven't agreed to it. We don't check letters before sending, but we may refuse or stop letters and block access if we learn of a breach, and we cooperate with authorities where the law requires it (see the Privacy Policy, section 3a).
5. Check before you send
The preview shows where the address will be printed. Check the address, your return address and your PDF before you pay: once a letter has been handed over to our print partner, we can't change or stop it. Pages that aren't A4 are scaled to fit A4; we don't change your content otherwise.
6. When something goes wrong
If our print partner rejects your letter, we tell you by email and refund the full price automatically, or put the letter back into your pack. If a letter is lost or late in the post, Deutsche Post is liable under its terms; contact us and we'll help you with the claim.
7. Liability
pdfzubrief.de is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body, or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes proper performance possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely), limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Liability under mandatory statutory provisions remains unaffected.
8. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Deadlines remain your responsibility; send time-critical letters early.
9. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal; see our cancellation policy. Because you ask us to send your letter right away, your right of withdrawal ends for a single letter once it has been handed over to the post, and for a letter pack once all its letters have been. If you withdraw from a pack before then, we refund the letters you haven't used, at the pack price per letter.
10. Ending things, and your data
You can stop using pdfzubrief.de at any time and request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Final provisions
German law applies; if you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected. We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. We may update these terms for the future; the current version is always published here, and the version you agreed to is stored with your order.
